Follow-up Letter
One of the best reasons to send a follow-up letter after a job interview is to ask more questions about the job or company that you may not have thought to ask during the actual interview. During a real interview you may get a little nervous and might forget what all you needed to ask. Taking some time to call the person who interviewed you or send a quick email can be a nice way to tell the person how much you want the job and your serious about this job.
